Where the ocean meets the land
Autumn storms and rich, bright light across the landscape. On the cliff tops where the Atlantic breeze touches the land. A new collection of large scale paintings follow the west coast, capturing the forms of the land and the subtle moving strokes of the ocean.
This new collection is drawn from the quiet of the landscape in autumn. The land is cool and the colours are changing. Always turning with the seasons, these works capture a feeling of the west coast. Ocean storms, deep blue seascapes, and bright, light studies of low tide. Some works in the collection can now also be found at Flora New Yard.
Each painting is hand stretched and painted in my Newlyn studio, where I bring focus to the nature of slowly working by hand and to the beauty of a simple process; to the ritual of mixing my palette and absorbing the hues of the landscape and the textures of my canvas. Here, the observations and feelings I have gathered unfold through the movements of my brush and paint.
